ITV News presenter Rageh Omaar, known for his role as International Affairs Editor, is currently receiving medical attention after falling ill during a live broadcast.

The anchor was presenting the 10pm news when he began to stumble over his words.

He has since expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of concern and well wishes in a statement released by ITV this morning, according to the BBC.

The broadcaster, which has received backlash over its "duty of care" for its presenters, has yet to disclose any further information regarding Omaar's condition or the incident that occurred during the broadcast.

Notably, the re-run of the broadcast on ITV +1 was cancelled, with a brief message informing viewers that ITV was "temporarily unable to bring you our +1 service".
